Happy Birthday Dear Ellen

This months edition is dedicated to Ellen's 40th birthday which was celebrated at Mary and Mark's house in Texas. The weekend started off a little rocky on Friday due to bad weather and very nerve-wracking travel experiences. Things improved greatly for Saturday and Sunday however, with lots of sunshine and temperatures in the 90s. Travel issues aside, it seemed to be a great party weekend! Thanks to all the members of the Bauer and Cruz families who were able to fly in and make it a memorable party!

Roll Call
About 25 guests were able to attend the party. Representing the Bauer's were: Ellen (of course), Roy and Carl Benson; Katie, Goody, and Carolyn Gudmunson; Annie; Tom and Fran; & Mark and Mary. Many Cruz family members also made it down: Steve, Teresa, Carlos, and Carolina; Ted and Mary; Bob, Carol Sue, Melissa, and Jill. Richard Cruz also made it. Here is a group photo showing almost the family members who were able to attend the party.

In addition to family members, we were lucky enough to have some other special people join the party too. Fran was driven all the way in from Oklahoma by her two friends Keith and Debra. Meanwhile, Teresa put a call in to her nearby former step daughter Nadrah who was also able to stop by. Mark and Mary were very pleased with the turnout!

The Man, The Myth, The Legend
No, not Richard Cruz - Larry Glass! Larry is with the catering company, and he was at the house on Saturday. His job was to serve the guests and keep the party going smoothly. Larry was "The Bomb"!!!!! Johnny on the spot! Simply the best! A real pro! The Man, the Myth, ah, well you get the idea. I think Ellen got a little offended when we actually appointed Larry to replace her as the guest of honor, but he was that good!

Really Making a Splash

Goody was trying to get innocent bystanders wet (especially Katie)and he touched off an amazing
Cannon Ball exhibition.
Tom Bauer actually had the presence of mind to pick up a camera and capture this spectacular display as it unfolded.

Is That All You Got?
A lot of people were taking pictures at the party. If you have a few good shots to share the rest of us would love to see them. I will post some of your party pictures on next months edition if you send a few our way. I can scan hard copy photos or, as always, e-mails with digital attachments are great. All photos will be returned upon request.
